How can You access Your Outlook Express email when You are away from Your home computer?
If you just want to be able to get your email that you normally get with
Outlook Express, you can do that in several different ways. Outlook Express
comes installed on most modern Windows computers, so you can put in your
email provider's POP server information and use Outlook Express on the remote
machine to get and send mail. Some email providers also have Web-based mail
services [usually called webmail] where users can get their email
using a browser; ask your ISP about this.
If you want to see the old mail that you previously downloaded and saved
in Outlook Express on your home computer, your best bet is to use
Remote Desktop if your home computer
is running Windows XP Pro. You'll need to enable Remote
Desktop on the home computer in Control Panel | System | Remote. Then you can
use the Remote Desktop Connection client on any XP computer (Home or Pro),
which you access via Start | Programs | Accessories | Communications, to
connect to your home computer's desktop and see and use all its programs. If
the remote computer is running a different operating system (Windows 9x, NT
or 2000), you can download and install the RDC client: Remote Desktop Client
